Argentina lowers import tax on monoisopropylamine, dimethylamine

The Argentine Ministry of Foreign Relations reported that an agreement with Mercosur to obtain reduced tariffs on inputs for plant protection products entered into force.
In an article in the Official Gazette, it was reported that there is a 2% reduction on tariffs on the importation of monoisopropylamine and its salts, as well as dimethylamine.
The agreement, which includes tariff reduction measures requested by Argentina, was announced on 4th March during a meeting held in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.
Specialists stress that this will enhance the production of plant protection products in Argentina.
It should be noted that tariffs are 2% of the FOB (Free On Board) value of imported products.
The agreement approved and requested by Argentina allows the entry of chemical inputs used in the manufacturing of plant protection products. Firstly, the import of monoisopropylamine and its salts was authorized with a quota of 26,282 tons.
The other approved product was dimethylamine, with a limit of 6,000 tons. Both import authorizations were approved for six months.
