Functional Molecule Institute of China’s Shenyang University of Chemical Technology develops tetramycin 1.5% WDG

Several days ago, the Functional Molecule Institute of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology successfully developed tetramycin 1.5% WDG.

 

By testing and evaluating the technical indicators of the WDG formulation, the institute’s researchers were able to screen the types and dosages of carriers, wetting dispersants and disintegrants, having optimized process conditions, such as water addition, drying time and drying temperature, to obtain the best possible formula. The processed tetramycin WDG has a stable performance and is environmentally-friendly, having been tested and proven to meet the quality and technical standards for WDG formulations, including cold and hot storage stability testing. 

 

Tetramycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic fungicide, which is a fermented metabolite of the non-absorbent streptomycin subspecies. It contains multiple antibiotics, including A1, A2, B and C. A1 and A2 are macrolide tetraene antibiotics, B are peptide antibiotics and C are nitrogen-containing heterocyclic aromatic antibiotics, with macrolide tetraene antibiotics being effective against bacterial diseases, while peptide pyrimidine nucleotide antibiotics are effective against fungal diseases, and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic aromatic derivative antibiotics improve crop immunity. Tetramycin originates from nature, being a pure biological agent that is highly safe and suitable for producing green agricultural products.

 

Different from protective fungicides like copper agent, mancozeb and chlorothalonil, the action mode of tetramycin is unique, as it can penetrate through plant epidermis into plant tissue, therefore, killing or inhibiting pathogens that have invaded plants. It is both protective and curative, with a good systemic bacteriostatic activity, and it can prevent the invasion and spread of pathogens from wounds. In addition, during the process of fermentation and production, the agent forms a variety of active ingredients, which can promote healing in damaged crops, enhance the photosynthesis of plants, improve crop disease resistance and optimize crop quality.

 

According to the China Pesticide Information Network, the registration of various formulations of tetramycin include tetramycin 15% technical concentrate, tetramycin 0.15% and 0.3% AS, hexaconazole.tetramycin 5% ME, hymexazol.tetramycin 2.65% AS and zhongshengmycin.tetramycin 2% SL.
