I company launches two fungicides with novel molecules in Brazil

The multinational company I has exclusively revealed to AgroPages the launch of two fungicides, classified as ″innovative solutions″ for controlling apple scab and powdery mildew. These diseases directly impact the productivity and quality of fruits in crops such as apples, melons, grapes, mangoes, roses, and other fruit-bearing plants.

MIGIWA

The first product introduced is MIGIWA, a fungicide with what I company describes as ″world-first technology.″ According to the company, this new product is particularly effective in controlling apple scab, even during the most critical stages of the disease’s development.

Formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC), MIGIWA’s active ingredient is ipflufenoquin (CAS 1314008-27-9, FRAC 52), which is also a component of Kinoprol. This molecule was recently approved by Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).

One of its key differentiators, as highlighted by I company, is its high efficacy and that it does not cause russeting—a condition that alters the fruit’s skin, creating a rough, rusty-looking texture that dulls the surface and compromises the fruit’s quality. According to the manufacturer, MIGIWA is groundbreaking because it ″provides prolonged control, even under adverse weather conditions, and contributes to achieving higher-quality fruits with better commercial classification.″

Agronomist and Fungicide Product Manager at I company, Archimedes Nishida, told AgroPages that MIGIWA offers ″high performance and an extended control period, even in unfavorable weather conditions, for managing apple scab without causing russeting. It employs cutting-edge technology to achieve the highest quality categories for apples, compared to the leading products on the market. This is one of the strong points of this fungicide, which arrives with the mission of protecting the productive potential of apple orchards in Brazil.″

PROPERTY

Additionally, for crops such as melons, grapes, mangoes, roses, and other fruit-bearing plants, I company is offering the fungicide PROPERTY (pyriofenone), which promises to ″revolutionize powdery mildew management in fruit cultivation.″ Featuring a novel and exclusive molecule in Brazil, the product delivers ″exceptional performance in controlling the disease, resulting in healthier fruits with improved appearance and quality for both domestic and international markets.″

PROPERTY also stands out for meeting Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) requirements in key export destinations, such as Europe, the United States, and Japan, while enhancing the safety of Brazilian producers in international trade. ″For the first time in the country, farmers will have access to a unique, effective, and safe molecule for managing powdery mildew in high-value fruit crops,″ noted Nishida.

″To maintain the competitiveness and profitability of Brazilian fruit cultivation, it is essential to invest in innovative technologies that optimize management practices and boost productivity. I company is committed to delivering solutions that meet the needs of the field, ensuring high-quality fruits and safety for both domestic and international markets,″ noted Nishida.
