Si previews Cortina Gold fungicide at Coopercitrus Expo 2026

Si is using Coopercitrus Expo 2026 as the stage to preview Cortina® Gold (Prothioconazole + Chlorothalonil), a new systemic fungicide designed for use in the management of economically important diseases in soybean, corn and cotton.

The event, held from July 27 to 31 in Bebedouro, São Paulo, marks the 50th anniversary of one of Brazil's largest agricultural cooperatives and brings together more than 130 exhibitors showcasing new technologies for growers, with special coverage by AgroPages.

According to Si, Cortina® Gold combines a high-performance triazole with a multisite fungicide, delivering preventive, curative and eradicative activity against major fungal diseases affecting broad-acre crops.

"Cortina® Gold features a high-quality formulation composed of a triazole and a high-performance multisite active ingredient for the control of the main diseases affecting these crops," said Marcelo Palazim.

Palazim said that the results from both ″internal trials and independent research institutions have been very promising for growers″.

Broad-spectrum disease management

According to Si, the formulation was designed to provide long-lasting crop protection, while offering flexibility for integrated disease management strategies in soybean, corn and cotton production systems.

The official commercial launch is expected after the product completes its pre-launch phase.

Sugarcane technologies in focus

Beyond the new fungicide, Si is showcasing its portfolio for sugarcane production, led by Volcane® and Blackjak®.

Volcane® (MSMA – monosodium methanearsonate) is a herbicide used for broadleaf and grass weed management and is described by the company as the most concentrated MSMA formulation available on the Brazilian market. In addition to sugarcane, the product is also registered for cotton.

Meanwhile, Blackjak® (leonardite-derived humic substances), introduced in Brazil approximately four years ago, represents the company's biostimulant platform for sugarcane.

According to Si, Blackjak® improves crop physiology by stimulating root development, increasing tillering, extending the productive lifespan of sugarcane fields and ultimately enhancing both productivity and profitability.

Citrus greening management

The company is also presenting field results obtained using the combination of the insecticide Fiera® (buprofezin) and the acaricide Fujimite® (fenpyroximate) for managing the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri), the insect vector responsible for transmitting Huanglongbing (HLB), or citrus greening.

According to Palazim, integrating the two products has achieved 80% to 100% control of the psyllid under field conditions, contributing to integrated management programs aimed at reducing HLB pressure in commercial citrus orchards.
